Cupping Therapy in Leyton, East London

A traditional treatment for releasing tension, easing tight muscles and helping you feel more at ease in your body.

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine technique where cups are placed on the skin to create gentle suction. I use cupping as part of a personalised approach, often alongside acupuncture or as a treatment in its own right.

It can be particularly helpful when your body is feeling tight, tense, heavy or stuck.

What can cupping help with?

People often come for cupping when they are experiencing:

  • Neck and shoulder tension

  • Tight or aching muscles

  • Back tension and discomfort

  • Feeling physically tense from stress

  • Stiffness and restricted movement

  • A feeling of heaviness or congestion in the body

  • Cupping encourages local circulation and can help create a sense of looseness and relaxation in areas that have been holding tension.

What happens during a cupping appointment?

We’ll start with a short consultation so I can understand how you’re feeling and what you would like support with.

I’ll then select the areas and type of cupping that are appropriate for you. The cups are placed on the skin and left for several minutes while you relax.

You may feel a firm pulling or warming sensation, but cupping shouldn't feel painful. We can adjust the treatment at any point to make sure you are comfortable.

Afterwards, many people describe the treated area as feeling lighter, warmer or more relaxed, with improved ease of movement.

My approach

I don't use cupping as a stand-alone treatment just because you have a particular symptom.

I look at the bigger picture — how you're feeling, where you're holding tension, your lifestyle and what else may be contributing.

Your treatment is therefore individual to you. Depending on what you need, I may combine cupping with acupuncture, moxa or gua sha.

Is cupping safe?

Cupping is generally well tolerated when performed by a suitably trained practitioner. Temporary circular marks, redness or mild tenderness are normal after treatment and usually fade over several days.

I will always take your health history before treatment and check that cupping is appropriate for you. If you are taking medication, have a health condition, are pregnant or have any concerns, please let me know when booking.

Cupping isn't suitable for everyone, and I will always prioritise your safety and comfort. You can also ask questions or choose not to continue with treatment at any point.
