Fertility & Women’s Health

Supporting you through the different stages and seasons of your health

Our bodies are constantly changing, and the support we need can change with us.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, women’s health is understood as a journey through different stages of life. Rather than seeing symptoms in isolation, we look at the wider picture — your menstrual cycle, digestion, sleep, energy, emotions and overall wellbeing.

The changing seasons of women’s health

Traditional Chinese Medicine has long recognised that the body changes as we move through life. The Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic) describes these changes through seven-year cycles, reflecting the body's natural development, growth and transition.

From the beginning of menstruation, through our reproductive years and fertility, and into perimenopause and menopause, each stage brings its own changes and needs.

My approach is to work with where you are now, supporting your body through whatever stage or transition you are experiencing.

Fertility

Whether you're just starting to think about having a baby, have been trying to conceive for a while, or are going through fertility treatment, acupuncture can be part of a wider approach to supporting your wellbeing.

I can support you with:

  • Preparing for conception

  • Cycle and menstrual health

  • Supporting natural fertility

  • Acupuncture alongside IVF and assisted fertility treatment

  • Supporting you before and after embryo transfer

  • Stress, sleep and emotional wellbeing during your fertility journey

In Chinese medicine, the menstrual cycle gives us valuable information about what is happening in the body. Your cycle, digestion, energy, sleep and emotional wellbeing can all form part of your treatment picture.

Your treatment is always personalised to you and your individual circumstances.

Women's Health

Women's health isn't just about fertility.

I work with women experiencing a range of concerns, including:

  • PMS and painful or irregular periods

  • Endometriosis

  • PCOS

  • Perimenopause and menopause

  • Stress and feeling overwhelmed

  • Sleep and low energy

  • Headaches and tension

  • Digestive concerns

  • Feeling disconnected from your body or simply not quite yourself

Sometimes there isn't one obvious thing that needs fixing. It can be about understanding the bigger picture and supporting your body through a period of change.

What happens during your treatment?

Your first appointment includes a detailed consultation, giving us time to talk about your health, your main concerns and what you would like support with.

I'll then create a treatment specifically for you. This may include acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, moxa, cupping or gua sha, depending on what is appropriate for you.

As we continue working together, your treatment can change and evolve with you.

A whole-body approach

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we don't look at symptoms in isolation.

We consider the relationship between different aspects of your health — including your menstrual cycle, digestion, sleep, stress, energy and emotional wellbeing.

My approach is about creating space to understand the bigger picture, listen to your body and support you through change.
