Treatments

Acupuncture is at the heart of what I do, but your treatment can include a range of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques depending on what you need.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body. It can be used to support a wide range of concerns, from stress and tension to women’s health, fertility, headaches and digestive health. Your treatment is tailored to you and may change as your needs change.

Electro-Acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture combines acupuncture with a gentle electrical stimulation between selected needles.

It can be particularly useful when working with areas of muscular tension, pain and circulation.

Moxibustion (Moxa)

Moxa is a traditional Chinese medicine technique using the gentle warmth of the mugwort plant.

I often use moxa alongside acupuncture to bring warmth and comfort to specific areas and to support the movement of qi and blood.

Cupping

Cupping uses specially designed cups to create gentle suction on the skin. It can be used to help release muscular tension and encourage circulation, particularly around areas such as the back, neck and shoulders. You may notice temporary circular marks after cupping, which usually fade within a few days.

Gua Sha

Gua sha uses a smooth-edged tool to gently work over the skin. It can be particularly helpful for areas of tension and stiffness and can be used alongside acupuncture as part of your personalised treatment.

Ear Acupuncture

Ear acupuncture uses specific points on the ear to support the body as part of a wider acupuncture treatment. It can be incorporated into your treatment where appropriate, depending on your individual needs.

Your treatment

You don't need to decide which treatment you need before you come in. We'll discuss what's going on for you and I’ll choose the most appropriate combination of techniques for your treatment on the day.
